About the Artist:
David Colton, born in Westfield, MA and now based in Westhampton, MA, is recognized for his abstract borosilicate sculptures and functional glass creations. His works often include hidden elements and three-dimensional design. In 2019, Colton became the first glass pipe maker to receive the Rakow Commission from the Corning Museum of Glass, placing his work into a permanent museum collection. His art has also been exhibited in New Glass Now at the Corning Museum of Glass and is part of the permanent collection at The Dr. Seuss Museum in Springfield, MA. Colton began glassblowing in 1995 in Fort Collins, CO, and held his first solo show in Brooklyn in 2009.
